Brief Description: The old Big Timber Stage Stop building was moved to this picturesque setting on Big Timber Creek and underwent a full refurbishing and renovation. The home has a rustic, western feel with top of the line furnishings and amenities.
The creek meanders through the lush back yard and a bridge leads to the other side for exploring of fishing. The bunkhouse is just across the yard from the main house. The imposing Crazy Mountains are off to the West - absolutely gorgeous mountains with fabulous
hiking opportunities!
General location: Stage Stop is located about ten minutes North of Big Timber. Livingston is approximately 40 minutes away. Bozeman and Billings, and the nearest airports, are just over an hour from the home.
Bedrooms and bathrooms: The home has two bedrooms on the main level and a small sleeping loft as well. The master bedroom is very spacious with a king size bed, patio doors leading out to the hot tub, and a huge private bath with a deluxe copper lined
shower. The second bedroom is set up with two double beds and another private bathroom with stall shower. The sinks in the bathrooms and the kitchen are old fashioned cast iron deep sinks. The sleeping loft is up above the TV viewing room and has one double
size bed. There is a half bath in the hall off the living area. Additional sleeping space for four more guests is available in the bunkhouse just a short walk away. This sweet little cabin has four bunk beds, a small table for reading or games, and a full
bathroom with shower stall. In the winter, the cabin is not available.
Kitchen: This wonderful kitchen has a huge butcher block style island with barstool seating for chatting with the chef. The kitchen is set up with stainless steel gourmet appliances and all the high quality cookware and serving ware that any meal may
need.
Dining room: A sunny enclosed porch serves as the dining room. The old style table seats eight comfortably and there is a woodstove in the corner to warm things up on a chilly evening. Tons of windows surround the dining area provide views of the mountains
as well as the lush lawn surrounding the creek.
Living room: A spacious living room is off to the side of the kitchen. A gorgeous rock fireplace is the focal point of the main seating area, with a grouping of comfy chairs for the crew that wants to sit in front of the fire. At the back side of the
room is another seating area for viewing movies on the flat screen television. There is also a small table set up for a chess game. There is another area for watching television in a small den on the way to the bedrooms. Two leather chairs are ready for the
serious movie watchers!
Activities nearby: Fishing and birdwatching along the creek is available right out the back door! Just a short drive away is plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities including horseback riding, rafting, hiking and visiting Yellowstone National Park.
The fun towns of Big Timber and Livingston provide plenty of restaurants, art galleries and antique shops to browse. There's so much to do!
